Overview

Power BI Desktop is an element of Microsoft tools that enables an individual to publish and analyze data from numerous sources. It is a report-authoring tool that enables its users to utilize the Query Editor to build data that can be utilized to create visuals, analyze information, and create and publish reports.

Power BI Desktop allows users to connect with data sources, transform data, and create models. Using the Power Query Editor, users can extract crucial information, remove irregularities, and simplify complex data.

Target Audience

This course is specifically catered to meet the needs of individuals aspiring to attain a better understanding of data preparation, data mining, data modeling, and predictive analysis to fulfill their personal or professional goals. Power BI Desktop is suitable for students familiar with basic Microsoft Office applications such as charts and Pivotal Table concepts.

Course Prerequisites

Please note that this course is not suitable for new Excel or database users.

Before enrolling in the Power BI course, it is recommended for students to

  • Have an understanding of basic data concepts
  • Be able to create, and format chart outputs
  • Be able to create formulas using standard aggregate functions
  • Be able to apply data processing techniques such as filtering and pivot creation
