Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES) -A gateway to UK and globally recognized International Undergraduate University courses.

The one year pre-university degree of English language teaching constitutes the Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES) officially called the International Foundation Year (IFY) .This qualification is intended to give a gateway to UK and courses offered by international universities or  stepping ahead towards  the NCC Education Level 4 Diplomas in Business, Business IT and computing. This qualification gives the university degrees acceptance in fields of Business and Computing.

The program provides you with a contemporary educating and learning curriculum. Created in a joint effort with UK Universities it also offers this diploma in 1 year full-time or more than 2 or 3 years part time.

Aspirants who complete the L3IFDHES will have ensured passage to the accompanying colleges in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Canada, USA and Australia:

Entry Requirements

For entry onto the NCC Education L3IFDHES qualification students must have at least one of the following:

Students must have successfully completed secondary school education.

OR1 GCE ‘O’ Level Pass

Students must also meet the English language entry requirements of:

  • IELTS minimum score of 4.5 or ESOL B1

OR

  • GCE ‘O’ Level English D7 or above

Units

The program is structured into compulsory and elective units. The compulsory units give you 100 credits, and provide the essential skills that underpin success, including intensive general and academic English in order to make very rapid progress to the academic levels needed for undergraduate study. To complete the course, you need a further 20 credits to give a total of 120 credits. The compulsory units are:

Assessment

Assessments for all units will be offered in a minimum of four assessment cycles throughout the year. The units are assessed by either written examination or assignment. A unit is passed when an overall mark of 40% or more is achieved.

Duration

The qualification is designed to be studied full-time over one academic year or part-time over two to three years.

Total Qualification Time 120 credits (1200 hours)

Guided Learning Hours: 663

Candidates must pass all core Units and two electives units to be awarded the Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies certificate.

Delivery Method

The qualification is taught face-to-face through lectures, tutorials and seminars. You will be studying atBIA, where you will be provided English language tuition for the duration of your studies. 

Upon successful completion of the L3IFDHES, candidates can:

  • Apply to one of the over 50 universities worldwide which directly recognize the L3IFDHES
  • Apply for guaranteed entry route with UK universities
  • Continue on to one of the Education Degree Pathways – Level 4

Academic Progression

Level 4 have the following three options;

1. Level 4 Diploma in Business Information Technology (L4DBIT)

2. Level 4 Diploma in Business (L4DB)

3. Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC)

Level 4 Diploma in Business Information Technology (L4DBIT)

The first level for your NCC Education degree is this level 4 Diploma in Business Information Technology (L4DBIT) and the standard of this degree is equal to the first year of UK university system for an IT degree.

The curriculum is devised in a way to give students the expertise in both academic and practical aspects of IT and business. This enhances critical thinking, practical competencies and a firm grasp over theoretical knowledge. The areas covered in this diploma include:

  • Developments of networks and computer systems
  • Development of websites and data bases in accordance with business
  • An acknowledgement of business requirements.

This diploma helps students to join the IT and business field with all the pre-requited knowledge about the industry and the skills for the application of all the functions of Business information technology which are a necessity for the IT and business industry.

This diploma is a gateway to NCC Education’s Level 5 Diploma in Business Information Technology (RQF) (L5DBIT) which is equal to the second year of bachelor offered by UK universities or can join IT industry as well.

Accreditation Status

NCC Education is regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) to award the Level 4 Diploma in Business Information Technology (RQF) in England.

Entry Requirements

For entry into the L4DBIT qualification, students must have at least one of the following:

  • NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (RQF)

OR

  • NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Business (RQF)

OR

  • NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Computing (RQF)

OR

  • 1 GCE ‘A’ Level pass
    If a potential student’s first language is not English, they must also reach the English Language requirements of either:
  • IELTS min score of 5.5 or ESOL B2

OR

  • GCE ‘O’ Level English C6
    Mature applicants will also be considered for entry if they are able to demonstrate over two years of relevant work experience and have a GCE ‘O’ Level / IGCSE English and Maths or equivalent.

The first year of the NCC Education Business Degree journey starts from the Level 4 Diploma in Business (RQF) (L4DB). This diploma stands equal to the first year of UK offered bachelor degree in business.

The diploma is essential for vocation in business industry as it sheds light on various areas of international businesses in contemporary times. The curriculum covers both theoretical and practical aspects of a business for you to have a better understanding on how the businesses around the world work. Moreover, a wide range of areas of business are covered by the subjects offered in this diploma.This diploma is an opening way for NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Business (RQF) (L5DB), or enrollment in universities in UK or can enable you to work in the business industry.

The first year of the NCC Education degree journey constitutes the Level 4 Diploma in Computing (RQF) (L4DC). This diploma is equivalent to the first year of UK offered IT degree.

The highlight of this diploma is that it enriches the students not only in the computing domain but also its application in the business industry. Therefore, a wide range of subjects both related to academia and practical aspects of computing are offered by this diploma. This helps in grasping all the computing related knowledge that is essential for the IT industry.

Complete this diploma and you will be eligible for NCC Education’s Level 5 Diploma in Computing (RQF) (L5DC) which has a worth of UK offered bachelor degree’s second year or you can switch to start your career in the related field.

The second year of the NCC Education degree constitutes the Level 5 Diploma in Business Information Technology (RQF) (L5DBIT) and extends both knowledge and practice of NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Business Information Technology. This helps in a deeper understanding of what you’ve learnt during Level 4. The areas covered during this level are:

  • Development of database
  • Business operations’ principles
  • Analysis of information systems

The primary advantage of this diploma is its focus on both theoretical and practical knowledge of business and information technology which is devised in a way to prepare the students for professional life in business information technology industry.

Complete this diploma and you will be eligible for your final year of NCC Education Business Computing and Information Systems accredited by University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and  the University of Greenwich Business Information Technology which are our partners for the provision of NCC diplomas or can extend your career in the IT industry.

Entry Requirements

For entry onto the NCC Education L5DBIT qualification students must have at least one of the following:

  • NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Business Information Technology (RQF) (L4DBIT) or an NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (RQF)(L4DC)

OR

  • A local or international qualification which is deemed to be of a similar level to the NCC Education L4DBIT qualification. This must be agreed with NCC Education in advance.

If a potential student whose first language is not English, they will need to obtain a valid score of 5.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination or ESOL B2. Alternatively, take the free NCC Education Higher English Placement Test, which is administered by our Accredited Partner Centres.

Direct Entry at Other Points

The majority of students are expected to join the NCC Education Information Technology Journey at Level 4 or earlier. However, applications will be accepted for entry at any point and will be accepted, by means of documented evidence, using the following criteria:

  • The applicant’s general educational background is appropriate for the level of entry.
  • The applicant’s knowledge of computing is both equivalent to, and appropriate for, the level of entry.
